Making Something Old Into Something New
This was one of the most rewarding projects we have worked on

Recently we had a customer Alex come in with some very sentimental wedding bands from her parents and she was looking to create something that she could wear and enjoy. At first Alex was thinking we could melt them down and make a piece of jewelry, but the more I talked with Alex I began to realize how special the rings were to her and suggested we work with the rings as they are and preserve as much as the original look as we can. The rings were two different sizes and both had engraving inside which added to the sentimentality and Alex liked the idea to work with what we had.

In the past, we have shaped a single wedding band into a heart but working with two rings that were different finger sizes and width were a little bit of challenge - We had to create a piece she would absolutely love to wear. Once we knew the heart shape was the way to go, we had our shop carefully create two hearts from the existing rings. Then, we worked on the challenge of either putting them together or leaving them apart. We took several pictures of the rings in different positions and sent them to Alex to see which one she liked. Alex also sent them to her mom and both loved the idea of them next to each other.

With the design chosen our shop dove tailed the two rings together to help them lay properly and secured the bail on top for the chain and polished the new necklace to make it look all the more beautiful. We were also able to engrave a little saying her parents had for each other to top it off.

This was one of the most rewarding projects we have worked on and Alex and her husband Todd were thrilled and fell in love with the pendant as soon as they saw it. Jewelry can hold a very special place in someones heart and the memories of who wore it can last for generations. We want to say thank you to Alex for letting us create this memorable piece for you and your family to enjoy for many years to come.
